RECONNECTION JOURNEY THROUGH THE TREE RINGS

Helping Others Reconnect to Self, Family, and Culture

Grounded in Haudenosaunee teachings, the Reconnection Journey through the Tree Rings supports healing, reflection, wellness, and reconnection through guided learning and cultural awareness.

A Traditional Health Model Rooted in Reflection and Well-Being

The Reconnection Journey through the Tree Rings is a traditional health model developed to help individuals visualize a pathway toward healing, personal growth, and cultural reconnection. Using the symbolism of tree rings, the model encourages individuals to explore their experiences layer by layer while strengthening balance within body, mind, spirit, and emotions.

What makes this model unique is that it can be used as a cultural assessment tool, a plan of care, an educational resource, and a self-evaluation tool. Through guided reflection and traditional teachings, individuals are supported in reconnecting with themselves, their family, their community, and their culture.

As an individual works through their own Tree Rings, they will eventually reach a pathway connected to one of the four white roots from the Tree of Peace. It is there that they begin to focus on peace, strength, and a good mind as part of their wellness and understanding.

The journey also emphasizes personal responsibility, encouraging each individual to take an active role in their health and well-being, while recognizing the value of their life.

The Meaning Behind the Journey

Healing Through Reflection and Reconnection

The teachings connected to the Reconnection Journey are inspired by traditional Haudenosaunee understandings of healing, compassion, and personal responsibility. The journey recognizes the importance of supporting individuals through grief, healing, reflection, and renewal.

The symbolic teachings of the white leather, feather, and water represent seeing clearly, hearing clearly, and speaking clearly while moving toward peace, strength, and a good mind.
